Autism, (autism spectrum disorder), is a developmental condition characterised by challenges with social interaction, communication, and repetitive behaviours. The symptoms and severity can vary widely among individuals. Key features often include:

  • Social Interaction Difficulties: Individuals may struggle with understanding social cues, forming relationships, and engaging in typical social interactions.
  • Communication Challenges: This can range from complete lack of speech to difficulties in maintaining conversations or understanding non-verbal communication.
  • Repetitive Behaviours: These may include repetitive movements, strict adherence to routines, and intense focus on specific interests or activities.

It is useful to first complete a free screening test, such as the Childhood Autism Spectrum Test (CAST) (completed by the parent/caregiver of a child aged 4 to 11 years old); Autism Spectrum Screening Questionnaire (ASSQ) (completed by the parent/caregiver of a child aged 6 to 17 years old); Autism Spectrum Quotient (AQ) (aged 16 and older); or Ritvo Autism & Asperger Diagnostic Scale (RAADS-14) (aged 18 and older).

The assessment will consist of a face-to-face interview, an observation, a conversation with a parent/caregiver or partner, and the completion of psychometric tests. To book an autism assessment, please contact me.

COST – the cost of the assessment is $1800. A deposit of $250 is payable at the time of booking. In the event that the assessment is cancelled prior to the psychometric tests being sent, the deposit minus 4% administration charge will be refunded. If the assessment is cancelled after the tests have been sent, 50% of the deposit will be refunded. Payment of the balance is required on the day of the assessment.
